what I liked:

CGI- it was pretty good, but we were all expecting that right? it almost made up for the one-too-many "we made it out alive- barely" sequences.

most of the actors/actresses- (MOST.)
I've liked John Cusack for god knows how long, he might not be the best actor ever but I've known him forever. the guy that played toe main scientist that got married to the presidents daughter in the end was probably my favorite acting job. and when all of their faces when the per-se "windows" were opened at the end and tey all saw the clear sky and allt eh water, they all did a great job on that part. woody harrelson's part was awesome! Chiwetel Ejiofor did a phenomonal job. I'd never heard of him before this, but now I'm gonna keep him in mind.

general concept-
I LOVE apocylipta-esque movies. my absolute all time favs. They're just my thing. I think that's why I enjoyed it more then some other people. The day after tomorrow was one of the first pg-13 movies I ever saw, and I completley fell in love with it! I love watching the "world is ending holy fuck" scenes, with all the exploding shit and fire.

what I didn't like:

WAY too many "we barely made it out alive" sequences-
seriously? no one would of ever survived every single one of those encounters. way too outlandish for my taste. I mean, they would of never made it to the arcs in time. but hey, it's alright. It IS a movie, amirite?

cheezy story line & characters-
I'm sick of the same people- divorced parents with young kids struggling to survive, then the happy ending with all the cheer. I guess I should of watched a tragedy, i know I know. but they could of LEAST made it a little more not-perfect at the end... I dont wanna give anything away. I think they should try and mix it up a bit next time.

so overall, 2012 was an eye-pleasing disaster flick with a talented cast that got way too much publicity; but still managed to impress me. I got SO suck of all those 2012 commercials!

tell me:  what was your favorite part of the movie? and if you havent seen it yet, you should check it out.

Hey whoever you are, my name is Lorraine and I'm the founder of Encored_reviews. I started this community because I'm trying to gain some more experience in the film critiquing industry. my current goal is to write a review a day for an entire year! I think It'll be fun because I already watch an excessive amount of movies, and I enjoy writing reviews. review number one is coming up very soon, I think I'm going to watch 2012. It got pretty good ratings on one site then horrible ratings on another so I don't know what to think. if you have any suggestions on movies I should watch, please contact myself, [info]dangeuros. thanks!
